Job Description
Web.com is looking for a Product Analyst to support business improvements through complex analysis and data modeling.
  
You will be using advanced data acquisition and manipulation techniques on various types of data, working with multiple sources to help determine the direction of our products, utilizing data mining and modeling techniques to explain what is happening, and help run experiments with the goal of making our tools easier and more useful for our small business customers. The successful candidate will work with one or more product teams to get a thorough understanding of a large scale problem they are facing and the data they have to help solve it.

This role will be a key member of the Product Analytics team over the summer, working to support Web.com’s overall mission to be the leading provider of advanced services to small and medium scale businesses. Overall, this role is responsible for providing data driven insights that ensure Web.com remains the best-in-class provider of premium services to our customers and continues to improve over time.

Responsibilities:

•Work with your assigned product team to scope out the project and identify data needed to analyze the problem.
•Discuss potential models with team to determine best practices and method for the analysis.
•Develop data sets and models in R or Python.
•Create your project under a repeatable framework so the team can reuse the code and results in the future.
•Ensure rigorous quality control over data, analyses and metrics used in the project.
•Collaborate with developers, database engineers, and managers to solve problems blocking final results.
•Report and document the results of your work in a clear and concise fashion, including final presentation.
•Identify opportunities for increased accuracy, efficiency and scalability of testing and data analysis in the future for this project.

Required skills
•Strong analysis skills, focused on explaining results to others. Work on a quantitative degree in a scientific field and/or some experience with predictive modeling and statistical concepts preferred.
•Experience with at least one programming language, preferably Python or R.
•Experience with SQL and experience using relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) is a plus.
•Exceptional time management and interpersonal skills. Experience working on multi-week projects.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organize and present data in a way that tells compelling stories and drives decisions. Effective at responding to questions.
